Floss & Rock

Please provide a brief introduction to yourself and the company you work for

We’re a husband and wife team who own and manage Floss & Rock, which is an international children’s toy and gift brand that specialises in creating fun, modern twists on old classics. Playing on traditional values and designs we avoid tech, plastics and exclusively design all of our products and illustrations in-house at our Blackpool-based HQ (the home of candy ‘floss’ and sticks of ‘rock’ – hence the name!)

What is your favourite part about working in the toy industry?

It’s a super fun industry to be in, you get to meet so many great people. It’s fast paced, ever-evolving and really exciting to be a part of. Designing and creating toys and gifts that bring so much joy to children, it really is the best job in the world!

Give us the inside scoop, what products are you launching at Toy Fair 2024?

After soooo many requests a full and fresh re-launch of our backpack & belt bags with added features and in 6 amazing designs including our exciting new ‘Adventure’ design! You’d also be mad not to buy our brand new stainless steel insulated drinks bottles in 6 matching designs that fit perfectly in the drinks holder. Super innovative stampers sets like no others on the market. Our stampers are shaped colourful wooden pieces, includes 4 paint colours and a gorgeous illustrated 24 page booklet to stamp away! The best ever travel compendium, our Magic Multi Play. This is completely mess free with a water magic pen, colouring in pages, loads of activity pages including spot the difference, mazes, matching pairs and 2 sheets of stickers and sticker scene pages. Everything is totally reusable.

What trends do you predict for the Toy Fair industry in 2024?

In general a lot of tech but for us, Creative Art growth!

How many years have you exhibited at Toy Fair? Any favourite memories?

This is our second year. Our best memory from last year was when all the brilliant life size mascots did their tour!

What is your favourite toy?

Transfer Fun – a recent addition to our Creative Art category which is a classic concept but oh-so much fun, 150 transfers and a pencil in a spiral bound book with 6 colourful scenes and 6 plain doodle pages.

What top tip would you give to a fellow exhibitor or visitor attending their first Toy Fair?
