This will be my 21st Toy Fair, but my 2nd with Magicbox Toys UK, and while there have been significant changes the halls also have a comforting air of familiarity about them. You cannot beat the anticipation of the days before preparing the stand and making it ship shape for the onslaught of visitors the next day.

This industry is unique in its camaraderie, and it will be a great pleasure to return to a completely unrestricted Toy Fair after the cancellation in 2020 and last year’s show where masks were compulsory. There is nothing like seeing old friends from the industry in the aisles and waving a hello, and it will be especially welcome after what seems years of only meeting virtually.

Trends for 2023 – The movement towards sustainability continues and we are delighted that the entire Magicbox portfolio now sports recycled packaging; reducing the environmental footprint of the non-toy parts of the product. We have even gone to the lengths of creating reusable display units for our customers that are made of recycled toys and look forward to those rolling out in spring.

Regards toy trends, the magic is to create innovative characterful toys that kids desire. Keeping price points down will also be an important factor, all of which has been accounted for in the new spring collections for SuperThings, T-Racers and Kookyloos, with their new standalone play sets at under £15!
